SCHOOL SNAPSHOT

GEO Next Generation High School, a free 9-12 public charter school, will open its doors in Fall 2019. GEO Next Generation High School will begin with 9th grade and add a grade each year over the subsequent three years. In GEO’s Early College model, students are able to take free college courses on a college campus for college credits, while simultaneously earning a high school diploma. GEO Next Generation High School is a part of a network of high quality charter schools managed by GEO Academies.

It joins GEO Prep Academy and GEO Prep Mid-City, both K-8 schools, and demonstrates GEO’s commitment to delivering a high quality K-12 learning experience to parents and students in the Baton Rouge community.

WHAT WE OFFER

OUR PROMISE

  • Students can earn 60 college credits and more while in high school
  • College tuition, books and transportation are free of charge
  • Students will gain real college classroom experience and self confidence
  • All college credits earned will support a degree and/or career certification
  • Staff will provide support to ensure student success

OUR MODEL

GEO Next Generation High School is unique to Baton Rouge in that our entire focus is getting students to and through college and/or career certifications. Traditional high school electives and higher level courses will be taken at the college level, not at the high school level, nor on our high school campus. Our school year schedule and daily schedule will mimic the schedule of Baton Rouge Community College and LSU. Qualified students may start taking college level courses as early as 9th grade.

Committed students will be able to earn at least an Associate Degree prior to graduating from our high school—free of charge to the family—fully transferable to a four year university in Louisiana and other participating universities across the country. GEO Next Generation High School will provide after school sports and enrichment programs such as basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, cheerleading, dance, theater and music and other activities depending on student interests.

Our Baton Rouge Leadership Team:

Kevin Teasley, Founder & CEO; Linda Johnson, Board President; Levar Anderson; Dr. Linda Fontenot; Captain Robert McGarner; Dr. Daisy Slan; Dr. Tamiara Wade; Sandra Douglas, Chief Academic Officer

SUCCESS!

Our Schools offer a rigorous college preparatory program that includes music, art, technology, educational field trips, guest speakers, and much more! GEO’s academic program helps children who are below grade level, “catch up” and helps students on or above grade levels, “move up”.
