Dear Prospective Parent:
I am Aleshia Taylor and am honored to serve as the principal of GEO (Greater Education Opportunities) Next Generation High School of Baton Rouge! We are currently enrolling 9th grade students for the 2019-2020 school year and would love for your child(ren) to be a part of our GEO family. At GEO, we believe “…all roads lead to college and career readiness!”
As a passionate educator with over 16 years of experience in the field, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a classroom teacher, teacher leader, department chair, class sponsor, PBIS team leader, truancy officer, hearing officer and district-level math supervisor. These rich experiences have allowed me to work with a variety of stakeholders (teachers, students, parents and community leaders) and have prepared me to lead GEO Next Generation High School and assist scholars to achieve their greatest potential.
I was born in Baton Rouge and raised in the rural part of Zachary, LA, affectionately known as Chaneyville. I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Education in Administration. Also, I have completed 50+ hours of graduate coursework leading to certifications in Supervision, Child Welfare and Attendance, Educational Technology and Educational Leadership.
I am committed to providing high quality educational experiences and a rigorous college preparatory program for your child(ren), which includes tier one curriculum, an early college model, 1:1 classroom, technology-enhanced resources, certified teachers, extracurricular clubs, enrichment activities, sports and more!
Please feel free contact the school to learn more about the exciting opportunities that await your child(ren) at GEO Next Generation High School of Baton Rouge. We look forward to your support and your child(ren) joining us in the 2019-2020 school year!
Your Partner in Education,
Aleshia C. Taylor
